A look back in time I loved to walk and look at all the stuff would have been better as a guided tour!
Great for kids My daughter is fascinated by pioneer life... she enjoyed the museum and it was nice that there wasn't much blocked off... she could sit in the desks in the school house, try out the bed in the log cabin, etc. There are a number of buildings that can be toured and interesting items in each one.
Historic Treasure Wonderfully organized grouping of actual pioneer homes and buildings of the original German settlers gives you the feeling of steping back in time. My favorite was the one room schoolhouse . The homes are the real homes and are made more interesting with the story of the real family that lived there. The museum store is also an actual home...

Interesting An interesting walk through the history of the area.
Loved It Love looking at all the actual places people lived and worked and even an old German School House. It was like going back in times. The Ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. They can tell you about anything you want to know about the City and all. I highly recommend and will love to go back...

highly recommended A very interesting and fun way to learn about the pioneer time. The museum has different houses each one dedicated to explain an activity such as making wool, making ropes, making nails etc. We were there during spring break so there were people in most of the houses and lots of activities especially for kids, but it is also very...
