Make sure to take some time to stroll through this place. Well worth the $5. Such cool history! A little something for everyone. Fire trucks, old houses,...
Walking History I really enjoyed the motion activated recordings in all but 1 of the buildings. They provided a personal touch to the descriptions on the various exhibits. Learned a great deal about the history of the area and the life of the settlers there.
Highly Recommend My wife and I went and weren't sure what to expect. It turned out to be a very nicely done exhibit. All buildings are open to tour on your own and are historically accurate, filled with period correct artifacts from the area and Germany and really were like a time capsule. A very fascinating place to visit and takes a...
A step back in time We enjoy history. This museum includes a one room school house much like our great-grandmother taught in. The Sunday houses were interesting. We were able to tour at our own pace and see as much as we wanted. There were some items we had never seen before.
How the pioneers lived Besides the excellent Pacific War Museum, this may be the second best place to visit in Fredericksburg. See the homes of the settlers, some of their tools, wagons, early photographs etc. More than homes, there's a store, barn, carriage shed, and school house. The location is convenient for downtown strollers, plus there is good parking outside the complex.
Very interesting All children need to see what things were like long ago. It was interesting to see some the things I remember from my grandparents house.
Fun and Interesting My husband and I visited this museum on a day trip to Fredericksburg, for our 20 year Anniversary. We have always been interested in history and saw the complex when we parked on Main Street. We decided to go in and see it. We were not disappointed. There are about 9 old houses to walk in including an old schoolhouse,...
Authentic buildings I visited this site while my husband was at the Museum of the Pacific War. Some of the buildings actually stood on this location and some were moved here. All of the buildings are most interesting and filled with period furnishings. This is very worthwhile place to see how the pioneers of Fredericksburg lived.
Nice self-guided tour This was a nice place to visit, it was nice that it was self-guided so we can meander among the different structures and see how the Pioneer's lived. I would recommend this little museum, it was worth it.
